Turks & Caicos, which has been an easy to reach destination from many U.S. cities, has just become even easier. Spirit Airlines, the leading low-cost carrier to the Caribbean, announced that it is starting service to Providenciales and Grand Turks with a new Airbus A319 aircraft.

Spirit Airlines has christened its airplane the "Spirit of Turks & Caicos Islands," and will offer 22 non-stops from its hub at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, including 12 in the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

“This is just another indication of the growing popularity of Turks & Caicos,” said Peter Pollak, managing partner of DPS Development. “However, with a 5,700-foot paved airstrip on our own private island, the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club offers convenience and exclusivity that cannot be matched in the Caribbean.”

Turks & Caicos Sporting Club, situated on a 1,100-acre private island offers waterfront homesites selling from $600,000 to $7 million. Members will have exclusive access to a host of amenities and activities including hiking, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, squash, and equestrian activities. The island will also feature a private airstrip and customs house, deepwater marina, fine and causal dining, fitness center and a host of other luxury amenities.

Direct flights to Providenciales are available from most major cities including Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, as well as London and Toronto.
