NEW YORK, NY (April 28, 2006) – A new release of oceanfront homesites has been announced at the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay, an 1,100-acre private island development in the British West Indies. Salt Rakers Cove is situated on the western shore of Ambergris Cay, the site of a natural lagoon that has been enhanced to provide nearly every lot with direct access to water. The newest village at the exclusive sporting community will feature casual island living, custom homes with breathtaking sunset views and docks for kayaks and non-motorized boats. Land prices range from $525,000 to $1.3 million.

The sale of land at Salt Rakers Cove follows an extremely successful launch of three earlier seaside villages at the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club. To date, more than $100 million in land and equity memberships have been sold, including approximately 120 homesites.

“The response to the release of the first three waterfront villages – Le Grand, Calico Jack, and Columbus Beach – was phenomenal. We expect the latest group of homesites to generate an equal amount of excitement,” said Peter Pollak, managing partner with DPS Development Co. “Our members have been drawn by the extraordinary location and unparalleled amenities and service that the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club offers. We anticipate a swift sell-through of Phase 1 for Salt Rakers Cove.”

Architect Larry Warren was chosen to lead the design team for the Salt Rakers cottages. He has previously been involved in a number of luxury residences and hotel projects in the Caribbean, including the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados and a collection of residences in Barbados and Mustique. Mr. Warren’s plans call for 1-4 bedroom cottages with a flexible, open floor plan that provides for natural ventilation, roofs with large overhangs for shade, a pool and a gazebo. Wings are arranged around a central living/dining area and interlinked by elevated, timber-framed verandahs. This newest community is within walking distance to the island’s Environmental Learning Center and is a short cart ride to the Club’s other amenities

The exclusive Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay may be the most unique undertaking ever attempted in the Caribbean. It is a remarkable development that entails the complete design and development of the island’s infrastructure including a 5,700-foot private jet strip, a deep water marina and yacht facility with capacity for 200+ foot boats, a 35,000-square-foot members’ lodge and fitness center, a beach club and a marina harbor village designed by internationally renowned architect Demetri Porphyrios. When complete, the Club will also feature a full-service spa, equestrian center and naturalist center and offer deep sea and shallow flats sport fishing, diving, hiking, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, and more.
